Ryan Ranch is a one-mile (round trip) out-and-back hike with a 135-foot elevation gain. The trail travels along an old ranch road to a historic adobe structure at the base of Ryan Mountain. Ryan Ranch was built as a homestead in 1896 by J.D. Ryan, who operated the Lost Horse Mine. There are also remnants of past at the site such as a fallen windmill and old building materials. Do not remove any artifacts from the site.

The Ryan Ranch Trail is a great place to discovery the park’s history while enjoying views of Ryan Mountain. This trail is typically less crowded than those close by and can offer peaceful solitude.

You can access this trail from the parking area along Park Boulevard or from Ryan Campground near site 14.
