Scenic View/Photo Spot

Visit a historic chimney along the Boca Trail! The remains of an old picnic area and campground, the chimney is made of basalt lava rock from the surrounding area. Nearby, past a gambel oak thicket, is another collapsed lava tube. This lava tube formed when the molten lava flowing over the landscape formed a hard thick crust on top. When the molten lava emptied from the lava tube, the hardened lava rock on the roof collasped into the open space.

Please do NOT climb on the chimney as it is very fragile.
