Quick Facts

Parking - Auto

Free parking is available at either the main visitor parking lot or hikers' parking lot.  Visitors using the hikers' parking lot will enter from the opposite side of the park as the main parking lot. There is a gravel road to use to walk into the park to access hiking trails, the Sandburg Home, goat farm and grounds. Please use the map in the parking lot to orient yourself when you visit, or view a trail map here. If you need accessibility assistance, please call 828-707-8125 when you arrive and visit our accessibility page for more information.

Oversize Vehicles
The Hikers' lot cannot accomodate large vehicles such as buses, RVs or towable trailers. Please use the Main Visitor parking lot if arriving with a larger vehicle.

Additional Parking Options

  • Visitors may park behind the Flat Rock Village Offices located at 110 Village Center Drive, Flat Rock, NC. It is a short walk to the park from this lot.
  • Visitors may use the Flat Rock Playhouse lot directly across the street from the main visitor lot, in the morning until noon, and in the afternoon when there are no performances. There will be signs posted at the playhouse to restrict parking for performances. Please be a courteous neighbor and pay attention to their signs.
If you park at Flat Rock Playhouse, remember to move your car before noon or risk being blocked in for several hours on matinee days (Wednesday through Sunday).

Accessibility

Due to the nature of the gravel surfaces and terrain, this parking lot is not accessible, nor does it provide an accessible route into the park. Visitors with accessiblity needs should use the main visitor parking lot. Signs are posted there on how to contact a ranger for assistance.
