The Hazelwood Nature Trail features a 0.5-mile (0.8-km) loop trail. This firm-packed trail has an elevation gain of approximately 50 feet (15 m). The average trail grade is 6.5% (maximum 10%) and the maximum cross slope is less than 2%. The trail is 6 feet wide.

Along the Hazelwood Nature Trail you will walk through a mixed-fir forest with towering giant sequoias, and even encounter a meadow. Along the trail, several exhibit signs provide information about the plants and animals in the area and how they survive the seasons.

Limited parallel parking is available here. The Alta Trail and Rimrock Trail connect to this loop, so this loop can also be accessed from other parking areas and trailheads.
