Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits, Information
Good land and bountiful crops often weren't enough for early homesteaders. In order for crops to help more than a single household, transportation and distribution networks were needed to trade, purchase, or barter with others.
One such network was named the "Grain Growers Highway," and it ran through what is now Homestead National Historical Park.
While the old Grain Growers Highway is no more, there was a time when it provided a means for farmers to bring their produce to the broader world.
