Part of the Federal Eastern Front Line, on March 25th, 8165, the Federal troops in Fort Haskell stopped the southern advance of Lee's breakthrough. This was done at a high cost as Federals in this fort repulsed several assaults and suffered friendly artillery fire. Lee's failure to take Haskell doomed to breakthrough.
