Quick Facts
Location:
Fort Christiansvaern
This large open space is the Parade, sometimes called the courtyard, it was a place of relaxation during quiet times, and a place of training and drills during work time. According to old maps of the fort, it used to have a large tree which provided shade. This area was also where families of the officers often spent their time. We can imagine the variety of activities people participated in here. Whether laughter and joy, or hard work and discipline, much went on at the Parade.
