The large open areas here have been used for numerous things. First a kitchen, then a storage facility, and then a maximum-security prison. This room has truly seen it all. Once again, we see how this location has been changed and used for a plethora of things.
Although there isn't much to now see in these rooms, picture the average everyday chores that would need to be done. Cooking food for the hungry soldiers, cleaning the dishes and the beans you split, organizing the shelves of canned goods and bags of flour. Imagine running back and forth to the cistern to get water. The chopping of wood to feed the hearth.
Truly this Multi-Purpose Room and the Kitchen are the most relatable locations in this fort to us as normal people living in the 21st century.
