Navy History
Next to the courthouse is what was once a duplex for Naval officers and their families. The building was constructed around 1904–1905, during the early years of the Naval administration. At some point, the building was condemned, reportedly in 1923. It is unclear whether the entire structure was subsequently removed or whether portions of it were renovated. By 1934, the building was being used to house officers and their families. Much later, in 1988, the building became associated with the Department of Legal Affairs.
