Harry Truman played a regular poker game here on Monday nights with friends. They met in a back room on the third floor. They called themselves the Independence Harmonica Society, or Harpie Club, because one of the members played the harmonica, also known as the French harp. The game had a 10-cent limit. During the game they would talk politics and drink a little beer or bourbon.
