**UPDATE 11/21/22: The Dungeness Dock is currently closed to private vessels due to damge sustained during Hurricanes Ian and Nicole. Beaching is allowed at least 100 yards away from the dock.**

The north section of the Dungeness dock is open for private boats. This dock is the closest to the Dungeness historic district and is less than one half mile from the ruins. There is a small dock house where you can find a map and Jr. Ranger booklets. The nearby Ice House museum has exhibits on the island’s history, a water bottle filling station, and restroom facilities. There is a self-pay station for visitors to pay the $10 park entrance fee.

Dock Rules:

  • Private boaters are subject to the National Park Entrance Fee.

  • Boat length is limited to 25 feet.

  • All areas painted in yellow are restricted.

  • Docking is on a first come-first served basis.

  • All boats must leave the dock at sunset and anchor offshore at night.

  • Non-permitted charter boats are not allowed to disembark passengers on the island.
