The Don Fernando Pacheco Adobe is situated next to the 26-acre Hillcrest Park at Grant Street and Olivera Road. The Adobe is listed by the National Register of Historic Places and the California State Parks Office of Historic Preservation. The city of Concord acquired the Don Fernando Pacheco Adobe from Contra Costa County in 1979. Since that time, the property has been leased to the Contra Costa Horsemen’s Association. When the lease terminated in October 2019, it created an opportunity to revitalize a City treasure.
