In 1899, David and Jennie Curry moved to Yosemite Valley with an entrepreneurial vision. They founded Camp Curry, now known as Curry Village, to offer low-cost accommodation to tourists. The tent cabins are a central part of the original vision and heritage of Camp Curry, though not architecturally distinct to the area.

The tent cabins are wood framed structures draped in heavy canvas material, containing either two or four beds. The original tent cabins had tent flaps for entry and exit. The design transitioned to doors began taking place in the late 1920s and early 1930s. While the tent cabin materials have been replaced as needed throughout the history of the camp, the design and aesthetic of the iconic tent cabins have remained largely unchanged.

This is an active camping area. Do not enter any campsites or disturb the campers.
