Audio Description
After the defense of Big Hill, Brigadier General John Bowen reformed his brigade at the crest of a hill south of Young's Bridge and west of Big Hill, near the home of Frank and Melvina Young. Bowen’s line was perpendicular to the Tuscumbia River, where his left flank rested, and supported by two cannon on his right flank. Brigadier General James B. McPherson deployed his four regiments and battery of artillery on the north side of State Line Road, across from the Confederate brigade, and ordered an attack.
