Corinth Tour #2, Stop #2 - Tishomingo Hotel
The Siege of Corinth
During the Siege of Corinth, the Union forces investing the town fired their large siege guns on the town only once. The three shells that were fired landed at the rail crossroads, right next to the Tishomingo Hotel. Shortly after the shelling, the Tishomingo would witness the evacuation of General Pierre G. T. Beauregard's armies, supplies, and wounded. After Beauregard’s evacuation, the Tishomingo Hotel would be witness to the occupation of Corinth by Major General Henry W. Halleck’s Union armies as they advanced into the abandoned town.
