The charcoal produced on the mountain was delivered to the Catoctin Iron Furnace.

Once the charcoal had been produced, teamsters would transport it down the mountain to the Catoctin Iron Furnace. The charcoal would then be used to fuel the fuurnace in order to produce pig iron.
