Quick Facts

Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

Because of the several charcoals hearths they had to monitor, colliers had to live nearby. Collier huts were very simple, small dwellings. They consisted of a triangular build of logs with a small door at the entrance and a stone cooking area in the back of the hut.
