Bag Your Waste

Did you remember to grab a pet waste bag? Picking up our pets waste isn't just the nice thing to do, it's also the first BARK Ranger promise!

There are many reasons why its important to bag pet waste in parks. The most obvious one is that it keeps the trails throughout the park looking and smelling beautiful. National Parks like Chamizal National Memorial are made for the enjoyment of everyone, and nothing is less enjoyable than seeing or stepping in a previous visitors waste.

While not as obvious as keeping parks beautiful, picking up pet waste is also important for protecting wildlife within the parks. Pet waste can spread diseases like giardia to wild animals, making them sick. Additionally, the scent can communicate to wild animals that a predator is in the area, which changes their behavior in response.

If you haven't yet, maybe now is a good time to turn around and grab a waste bag. Let's work together to keep our parks beautiful and our wildlife safe by following the first BARK Ranger promise to Bag Your Waste.
