Quick Facts

Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits, Scenic View/Photo Spot

From this point forward, you will be walking in a trail carved into the volcanic tuff.  The rock is very soft and malleable.  It is very important to stay on the trail.  In just a very short time, our shoes can do more damage than many years of erosion.  Thank you for helping us protect this site for future generations.

There are several small cavates right next to the trail. Feel free to enter these but do not climb up or down any carved stairs leading away from the designated trail. Our shoes cause serious damage to the soft stone.
