Ground campsite with unique vegetation including bananas, limes, papayas, and wild sugarcane can be found on this old Indian mound which was occupied by the Seminole Indians in the early 1900s. There are flat, grassy sites shaded by the surrounding tropical hardwood trees.
Access - Accessible to canoes and powerboats with shallow draft and low clearance. Leave the Wilderness Waterway at marker #9 and travel 3.8 miles east through Tarpon Bay past the “No Wake” sign at the entrance to Avocado Creek. Continue up the creek to the campsite.
