A dry house is a building where miners would hang their soiled, wet clothes to dry for their next shift. After their underground shifts, miners changed soiled clothes for clean ones before heading home. This dry house was built by the Calumet and Hecla company for workers in the number 2 and 4 shafts. The building stands one story tall and the walls are made from poor-rock, a biproduct of mining operations.
