To serve a growing workforce the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company constructed a stand-alone bath house with an indoor pool for workers and their families in 1910/11. It cost the company $45,000 in construction costs! The building stans one story tall and is made of red brick. It has an elevated foundation made of poor-rock. Women and children could use the house for free, men paid three cents, and boys two-and-one-half cents. One worker was employed just to check bathers for contagious disease! The building is now privately owned. Please respect private property.
