The life of a lockkeeper was hard work. The lockkeeper was expected to move boats through the lock at all hours, every day of the week. While not quite the same today, you can enjoy the canal in a unique way by spending a night in this lockhouse. Along the canal there are seven Canal Quarters that guests can stay in. Each lockhouse has furniture and accessories from a different time period, and each tells a different story about the development of the C&O Canal. Step back in time and imagine what life was like 60, 90, or 150 years ago! Find out more information and reserve your stay with the C&O Canal Trust.
