Scenic View/Photo Spot

Leaving Rotunda, this main cave passage became known as Broadway. Early visitors from New York may have thought that the large trunk passage resembled the urbanized Broadway canyon.

On the left you will see a metal tower. This equipment is part of an experiment to collect data on the cave climate. Cave Scientist are studying the changes that occur due to the surface weather and tourism.

Running parallel to the stone walkway is a beaten dirt path. This is the old oxen trail used when they were moving the dirt from the harvesting locations back to the leeching vats.  There are logs stretched along the path from the dirt processing operation.
