Bristlecone, Alpine Lake and Sky Island Forest Trailhead is located at the end of the Wheeler Peak Scenic Drive, 12 miles up. This is one of the most popular trailheads at Great Basin National Park. The Wheeler Bristlecone Grove is just a 3.2 mile roundtrip hike form the trailhead, this is one of the most visited area of the park during the summer and fall. This trailhead also offer access to a wheelchair accessible .4 mile trail and a 2.7 mile loop that visits two alpine lakes.
