Significance:
Part of Cedar Creek Battlefield

No

Three thousand Confederates crossed Cedar Creek near Bowman's Mill and marched up the road with a rising fog obscuring their movements. There was no bridge at Bowman's Mill Ford during the Civil War.

While the bridge across Cedar Creek is a public road, it is a low, one-lane bridge. There is no place to pull over or park, and turning around is difficult. The roadway may flood during high water.
