The historic mess hall and residential barrack of Block 22 are two of Minidoka’s original buildings. After the camp closed, nearly all of the 600 buildings were relocated to nearby communities and farmsteads. This mess hall became a canning kitchen at the Jerome County Fairgrounds, while the barrack was repurposed for migrant worker housing on a local farm. Both buildings were returned to the site in the 2000s and can be accessed during guided tours.
