Remembering Revolution

The Aftermath

Peter Brown, Peter Salem, and John Waller all survived the battle. Over a thousand others, however, died or suffered wounds. After intersecting in the midst of a battle on this hill, each man followed their own separate paths. None of these three ever saw fame or fortune for their fighting here.

Collectively, though, their actions on this hill became significant to others long after the battle. The acts of defending liberty, defying enslavement, and sustaining law and order have spoken to later generations in many lasting ways.
