Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits, Tactile Exhibit

As you walk through the fort, the side corral is formed by the divergence of the main east wall away from the east row of rooms. This area, measuring some 133 ft. in length, may have been used for domestic animals and barnyard fowl.

Numerous postholes were found in this corral, along with the remains of three drainage trenches. Stagecoach period alterations were visible throughout the area, and may have included a small adobe "half-wall," a gate, and lengthening of one of the trenches.
