This spot offers views down into the Basin Cove community, named after the cove was devastated by the 1916 flood; Caudill Cabin is a lone reminder of the community. The 12-car pull-through makes stopping easy.

From this site, one can access the MTS trail: the Mountains-to-Sea trail traverses North Carolina, from Clingmans Dome to Jockey’s Ridge. To learn more about the trail visit https://mountainstoseatrail.org
