A favorite community gathering place was the Kalaupapa Bar, aka Fuesaina's. Here residents could get together to share food, talk story, have a soft-drink or cold beer, or play cards and games. There have been a number of different bars over the years, such as Rea's Store, Elaine's Place, and Fuesaina's.
