Along the trail you will see many different plants. It's amazing how much difference elevation can make in plant growth! Plants near the bottom of the trail have traits that have adapted to conditions at lower elevations, such as living close to the river. 

Higher Elevation Plants
Plants you see near the top of the trail have adapted to higher elevations. They can grow in extremely hot and cold temperatures, on rocky cliffs, and require less water.
