The Alfred M. Bergere House, located at 135 Grant Ave, Santa Fe, was originally built in the early 1870s on the Fort Marcy Military Reservation. The building functioned as housing for officers on the reservation. In the 1890s, when the military reservation was no longer needed, the house was occupied by prominent New Mexico politicians, including the Otero-Bergere family. Alfred M. Bergere, his wife Eloisa Otero, and his step-daughter Adelina (Nina) Otero Warren lived in the house for several decades. Eloisa was a prominent woman in the community and her daughter Nina became a noted suffragist, author, and businesswoman.

When the military gave the property to the city of Santa Fe in the early 1900s, Eloisa purchased the house for $2,700. After her death, her children (including Nina) cared for the property. Nina managed the estate until her own death in 1965.

The Alfred M. Bergere House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 1, 1975.
