With barbecue pits, bathrooms, and space to park all a stone's throw from Fort Point and the San Francisco Bay Promenade, it's no secret that West Bluff is a great place for a picnic. Get there early if you plan to grill, because it's first come, first served.

Safety

  • Stay on the established trail. The lagoons feature fragile habitat.
  • Observe warning signs and railings-these exist for your safety.
  • Dress in layers and be prepared for varying weather conditions. Sunny days along the coast can turn windy, foggy, and cold very fast.


Parking
There is ample parking available near the West Bluff picnic area, at East Beach and along Crissy Field including numerous accessible spots.

Bathrooms
Accessible restrooms can be found at East Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge Plaza and at the Crissy Field Warming Hut.

Water
Drinking water can be found at East beach, the Golden Gate Bridge Plaza and at the Crissy Field Warming Hut. Avoid becoming dehydrated or experiencing heat exhaustion. Drink plenty of water and drink often, pace yourself, rest in the shade, and eat salty snacks.

Trail Etiquette
Please remain on the established trail. Off-trail travel harms plants and causes erosion. Always keep your food within arm's reach and do not feed the wildlife. Carry out all trash and food waste (fruit peels, shells, etc.).
