The Taggart Lake Trailhead provides a convenient access to the multi-use pathway for those looking for a short outing. With views of the Grand Teton to the west and Cottonwood Creek to the east, the scenery is spectacular. A four-mile trek north will take you to South Jenny Lake, or a three-mile trek south will take you to Moose. The parking lot provides visitors with access to hiking and the pathway and may become congested. ADA compliant.

Facilities include a vault toilet and bike rack, but no water.

Regulations

Only use non-motorized forms of transportation on the multi-use pathway. Persons with physical disabilities may use battery-operated transportation. Do not access the pathway from dusk to dawn for your safety and wildlife's safety. Please do not walk your dog on the pathway. Guide dogs-used for the sole purpose of aiding a person with a physical disability-may travel on the pathway.

Name Origin

Named for W. Rush Taggart, the assistant geologist with the 1872 Hayden Expedition. Taggart first came to Jackson Hole in 1860 with Captain W.F. Raynolds and the army engineers.
