Laboulaye
Edouard de Laboulaye -In 1865, Laboulaye proposed the idea of a monument for the United States representing the ideals of freedom and democracy.
Bartholdi
Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi - The French artist and sculptor who designed the Statue of Liberty, officially entitled Liberty Enlightening the World.
Eiffel
Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel - The architect and engineer who replaced Viollet-le-Duc to design the Statue's internal support system.
Pulitzer
Joseph Pulitzer - Using his newspaper to urge the American public to donate, he helped to raise funds for the Pedestal.
Lazarus
Emma Lazarus - The poet who wrote "The New Colossus" to help raise money for the Pedestal's construction.
