Sargents Bay picnic area is one of several of small picnic areas in the northern part of the park. This minimal facility includes a few picnic tables and is ABA accessible.
Name Origin
John D. Sargent and Robert Ray Hamilton built a guest lodge, the Merymere, in the 1880s above Leeks marina. Both were black sheep descended from famous families (John Singer Sargent and Alexander Hamilton). Sargent was suspected of murdering his partner leading to the name of Signal Mountain.
