Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

The scenic area along the PederĀnales River draws not only humans but wildlife as well. White-tailed deer are common in the state park at the LBJ Ranch district.

A diverse variety of bird species also live here. Some are spotted along the river banks, others are seen in the forested and prairie areas of the state park. The nature trail leads to a bird blind which can be an excellent place to quietly spot birds.

Two large mammal species played an outsized role in Texas history: American bison and Texas longhorn. You can marvel at both in the state park.
