This log cabin was originally built in 1888 and used to be located 25 miles south of Grand Canyon, at Red Horse. In 1902, Ralph Cameron had it moved to its present site, where, with the addition of a porch and a second story, it became known as the Cameron Hotel. From 1910 to 1935, this building housed the United States Post Office for the local Grand Canyon community. Eventually, after shifting from owner to owner it underwent extensive restoration and became two rooms of the Bright Angel Lodge.

A small plaque next to the door commemorate's the buildings role in Grand Canyon History.

As this is an active room within the Bright Angel Lodge complex please respect the privacy of the visitors who may be inside.
