This exhibit is an example of a "ready-made" clothing store from the mid-1800s. Prior to these shops, most people's clothing was custom made at home. Stop by this exhibit to learn more about the emergence of clothing shops and the changes in clothing manufacturing over time.

Accessibility

There are three steps up to the door of the Philip Frankel & Co. building. There is a handrail on both sides of the stairs. There is no alternative entrance without steps. Inside, there is a small area behind a railing to stand and view the store.
