Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

In 1967, the property opened as a National Park Service site, as part of the Oxon Cove Park. Since then, new structures have been added, and preservations of the historic buildings has been ongoing. In 2003, the park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The goat and sheep pen was built in 1980, to house the goats and sheep.
