In 1967, the property opened as a National Park Service site as part of Oxon Cove Park. Since then, new structures have been added, and preservation of the historic buildings has been ongoing.
The bathroom was built in 1980. It has a women's and men's room. There is an accessible stall, lowered sink and also baby changing station in both rooms. The facility is open during the farm hours, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. This is the only public restroom in the park.
A water fountain is attached to the wall between the entrances to the bathrooms doors.
