The wall surrounding the second Fort Smith was 12 feet high and 2 feet thick with port holes about 4 feet apart. The main buildings in the enclosure were the commissary, two officers' quarters (north and south), and the quartermaster's office. This section of the fort wall was built in 1930 using stone from the the original fort wall.
