Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias is the park's largest stand of giant sequoias, with about 500 mature sequoias in the grove. Park at the Mariposa Grove Welcome Plaza and board the free shuttle bus to get a personal glimpse of these giants.

The Mariposa Grove Shuttle provides free shuttle service between the Mariposa Grove Welcome Plaza, near Yosemite's South Entrance, and the Mariposa Grove from early March through late November. This is the primary way to get to the Mariposa Grove.

From approximately December to March, the Mariposa Grove Road is closed to vehicles and the shuttle no longer operates. The road, along with all trails within the Grove, remain open to hikers, snowshoers, and skiers.

Shuttle operation dates are subject to change based on conditions and may vary from year to year. The road and shuttle service may open as early as April 1 and will close on or before November 30 (depending on conditions).
