Quick Facts

Beach/Water Access, Parking - Auto, Trailhead

The Loran Road Trail, as the name implies, was once a road leading to a LORAN (LOng-RAnge Navigation) tower. The US Coast Guard operated the tower from 1949 to 1981, providing additional navigation aid to ships equipped with the LORAN system.

Now, the 1,400-foot roadway is an accessible trail that leads to a sandy path, which then provides access to the beach. There is an accessible parking space at the start of the trail, and possible space for an additional two vehicles.
