From many west-facing overlooks you can see a large lake in the valley. It is Lake Arrowhead and serves as a reservoir and a recreation area for the neighboring town of Luray.

Lake Arrowhead features six picnic shelters for rent (call 540-743-5511 for availability), fishing, ballfield, volleyball nets, horseshoe pits, playground, 1-mile trail that circles the lake, and the Edwin Smith scout camping area.
