The Jackson Lake Lodge gained recognition as a National Historic Landmark in 2003. The building broke with the National Park Service tradition of rustic log construction. Instead, designers constructed a "modern" lodge of concrete and steel that blended into the landscape. The great room with its wall of windows offers sweeping views across the valley toward the northern Teton Range. Step outside to the back deck and engage all your senses. Below is the Willow Flats area; a wet meadow where many species thrive. Across Jackson Lake, the northern Teton Range, dominated by Mount Moran, fills the skyline.
