The sign depicts a country estate, with creek flowing left to right across the top. An ox can be seen drawing a carriage across a thin strip of land over the creek. Lush trees are above and a dirt road runs past a three-story building, two two-story buildings, and a small house towards the bottom. A hay field is in the lower left corner and an open grass field on the right. An orchard sits on the left side of the picture.
The sign title is in large white lettering on the lower right side: The Peirce Family Estate. Below is text that reads: The stone mill was an important part of the Peirce family's business. Like most farms in the 1800s, this was also a diversified and constantly evolving operation. The family managed hundreds of acres devoted to fields, pastures, and orchards. A sawmill, a nursery, barns, and bee hives dotted their landscape. The Peirce estate also contained housing for the large family, enslaved people, and tenants who made the business a success.
