Hume Lake Village and Camp is on national forest land on the shore of a small, man-made lake open to hiking, boating, and fishing. While some services are only available to Hume Lake Camp guests, a gas station, general store with gifts, cafe, and picnic area are available to the public. Created in 1908, this lake stored logs for the timber industry and provided water for a flume that floated timber down to the San Joaquin Valley. A 2.6-mile, easy trail loops around the lake, offering interpretive signs and benches along the way.
