Originally created as a municipal park, Hamilton Beach Park includes playgrounds and ball fields along with shoreline access for fishing. Nearby sensitive marshlands are visible from the grassy shoreline.

Get Started

Hamilton Beach Park is a few minutes away from the JFK/Howard Beach stop on the A-train. The close-knit community of Howard Beach plays host to this small National Park site on the Jamaica Bay waterfront. The edge of the park is lined with sandy salt marshes where visitors enjoy kayaking and fishing.

The park has a basketball court, a handball court, and a grassy field for other sports or for picnicking. In 2014, dozens of volunteers from multiple organizations came together to build a state-of-the-art playground for children and installed new basketball hoops throughout the park. From time to time, Hamilton Beach Park hosts volunteer beach clean-ups.
